Emptyness – s/t (CD)

Originating from Marseille area, which despite having been the birthplace of some of the oldest French B.M. bands as Maleficum Orgia and Stregoica (the latter is probably better known in the 90ies for its zine), is a scene that never really catched the attention unlike some other Southern bands like Mütiilation, Gorgon or the ones from the Concilium circle.

Created in 1996, EMPTYNESS remains in the depths of the underground.
For a time they were called “MYSTERIIS”, and had some line-up changes over the years; Hunferd (Ordo Templi Aeternae Lucis) was in the band for a short period.

Things became more concrete with the addition of 2 members from Maleficum Orgia:
they made their unique concert in November 1999 with Blessed In Sin, in the south of France.
They recorded their 1st album (self-titled) in 1999/2000, released on vinyl in 2001 (also on cassette by Antihumanism in 2011).

Emptyness was on hiatus until 2008 about, when they finally started to record their 2nd album, which took 6 years to be completed.
Released in 2015 under the band’s name “The Emptiness”, this 2nd album is really different from the 1st one; twisted, dark and truly original.
