Phlegein – Labyrinth of wonder (MLP)

18,00

From the shadows of Finnish Black Metal underground, returns Phlegein with new mini album. Intro and four songs continue the path band has chosen. Always couple steps forward, introducing something new, yet keeping faithful for the foundations that Phlegein is known for. One of the more obscure bands on Northern Heritage.

Phlegein has always focused on good song writing, lyrics where vision is clearly to be seen, sound that is sharp and to the point. ”Labyrinth of Wonder” displays that despite low profile and rejection of most of genre publicity may leave most people unaware of their existence, Phlegein is a force that one should acknowledge among the very best of contemporary Finnish Black Metal.

Fans of albums like Sargeist’s Let the Devil In, Gorgoroth, or the more tremolo-oriented parts of mid-period Horna would probably really get a kick out of this album, especially those who find more appeal in nighttime rituals deep in the snowy woods than in black leather and spiked gauntlets.

Indeed, the ritual here is a lot more critical to the band’s sound than theatrics. A big improvement over the solid debut album and a worthy addition to Finnish black metal canon.

With members from Chamber Of Unlight and Horna.
