Do Skonu – Ritual of transition (CD)

This, the final work of prolific Do Skonu, is an intricated and intriguing piece of pure black metal. A relentless work of riff-genius and a masterclass in songwriting. Overall faster and more complex than previous albums, with no room for unnecessary experimentation or one-dimensional parts, and each song with its own unique characteristics.

With a sharper sound and more violent production compared to the previous “…and darkness was over the surface of the deep” (Zazen Sounds 2023), which tends more to a heavier death metal sound. But most significantly are the layers of riffs and webs of song structures, making this album stand in Do Skonu’s discography with head and shoulders above its precursors. This is rightfully an exit at the bands’ high point.
