Darkwoods My Betrothed, founded in 1993 in Kitee, is one of the pioneers of Finnish black / heathen metal. This piece of Finnish black metal seems to be one of the forgotten jewels of the genre, along with their side project Furthest Shore.
“Heirs of the northstar” is the debut album from 1995 and is a masterpiece of black/viking/pagan metal. Includes the classic track “Yggdrasil’s children fall”.
